WOW- where to begin? Such a busy weekend. It started out with a trip to the fair with Quinn's buddy, Lauren. I think the actual best thing about the whole trip was the ride to the fair on the double decker Hulk bus where Quinn was able to shout commands at cars, like, "stop and go faster cars!". After enjoying fair food and farm animals, Quinn was convinced by Lauren to enjoy a pony ride. He actually loved it and did not growl at the ponies once... a big deal for us. The weekend then moved on with a fantastic neighborhood block party in the cul de sac in front of our house. It ended -hours later and many hot dogs and cupcakes eaten- with a huge fireworks show over the canyon. At first Quinn was a little scared but then dazzled by the "firecracks!" and now wakes up every morning and tells us he wants to see more firecracks and every night goes out to the canyon to wait for them...
Next up: Quinn's second birthday party! As promised, Hullabaloo was here and did not disappoint. It was so much fun, I have to say I think the adults might have had some fun (but maybe the beer and wine helps..) and the pizza, cupcakes, balloons, noise makers, necklaces and all around dance party was a hit. As suspected, Quinn was in the mix, wearing his birthday crown ALL DAY LONG and making sure to drag his huge 2 balloon around with him in case anyone wanted to know whose birthday it was... He was right next to Hullabaloo (aka: the half that was at the party, Steve) and "assisted" the entire time, like one might say, a roadie...:) He was all about the dancing, the scarves and the shaking the noise makers and his little money maker. His friends were wonderful, fun and more than generous in their birthday kindness towards Quinn. Brent and I both agreed it was a super special day. To prove it, We have about 2 million photos of the event. I am posting the few Brent took (as we videotaped most of it). Josie's mom, Jill, took some special ones which I will be posting as well. Lauren's dad, who is the most wonderful photographer, literally took about 500 photos of the event. He managed to capture a beautiful and special photo of each of the kids and then of course the hilarious ones of the mayhem we call kid birthday parties. Those will be up within the next few days as well.
Quinn actually turns 2 this coming week when his grandma and papa from Montana will be here to celebrate with us. Thanks for your kind wishes and love.
Cheers!
